November 27 – New Horizon’s High School learns about being an author
December 4, 2008
Jane Scaletta visits New Horizon’s High School and talks to one of their classes about being an author. The class really enjoyed the presentation and interacted with many questions. Jane even read the Kimbo’s First Horse Show story to the class so they could see the illustrations and hear the story she wrote.
The class also interacted in the classroom with the Kimbo website and played the memory game. Ms. Christine Virgo had an great time playing the memory game with the students encouraging her which blocks to click.
The New Horizon’s High School staff would like Jane to visit the school again in the near future.
November 25 – Reading Week at John A. Cumber Primary School
December 4, 2008
John A. Cumber celebrates Reading Week with a Scholastic Book Fair and a reading by Jane Scaletta of Kimbo’s First Horse Show. The children really enjoyed the reading and took great interest in the story. They loved Kimbo and his friends and learnt the names of Kimbo’s friends – Dodger, Shadow and Angel.
The year 4 class had fun with Kimbo activities in their class. They wrote wonderful letters to the author, and letters about how much they enjoyed the Kimbo’s First Horse Show story. They did Color-Me Kimbo artwork and displayed all their work on a white board for Jane to see. It was truly wonderful to see the enthusiasm in the children’s work.
Thank you year 4 of John A. Cumber Primary School. You are awesome!!!
