Author Bio – About Jane Scaletta

Jane Scaletta was born in the early 60’s in the Caribbean on the beautiful island of Jamaica. From the first time she sat on a big white stallion at the age of three, she became hooked. Jane shared this love of horses with her daughter, Ashley, who is an active rider. Jane would read to Ashley every night stories of magical horses, many times even making up her own tales of a little girl and her adventures with her horse. Jane has had horses all her life and never misses an opportunity to attend a horse show. Jane went to boarding school in England in the mid 70’s and furthered her riding education there. She moved to Miami, Florida in 1976 and continued to stay active with horses, working with Thoroughbred, Paso Fino and Arabian horse farms. Jane went to the University of Florida to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine, but unfortunately in 1980, a serious accident interrupted her schooling. Jane continued her passion for horses by working for a large Arabian horse farm, and then moved to Orlando to work for a dinner attraction featuring horses and riders. For Jane it was the dream job because she had the opportunity to work with many different breeds of horses and maintain both their mental and physical health. Jane has a home in Miami, Florida and the Cayman Islands where she lives with her beautiful daughter, Ashley, her loving husband, Christian.

Illustrator Bio - Julia Theriault

Julia Theriault was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the early 60’s. In the mid 70’s, Julia attended boarding school in England. In the late 70’s her family moved to Miami, Florida where she graduated from High School studying Fine Arts and Commercial Arts. She has been working in the graphics field since 1984.

Julia’s artistic ability was obvious from a very early age. From scribbling on the walls, to sitting for ages copying a picture out of a book. Her genius for taking a subject and characterizing it into a drawing was remarkable.

She now works for a clothing company in Ohio illustrating and creating graphics for teen apparel. Julia also loves to work in creative graphics like illustrations, greeting cards, and logos for various companies.
